Dance Mixes are continuous with NO interruption.  I simply lock on to the DJ or bands tempo and continue the beat. (20+ yrs experience) This includes my "Key-J" loop mix of female dance songs by the original artists recording eg.
Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, Abba, Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, Whitney Houston and many more spanning all generations.

Please note (band leaders): with the exception of a handful of songs and any piano soloing, I am currently not an on the spot parts player anymore.

Fortunately I am busy with my current show list.
Old songs and parts usually come back to me. New songs would need time allotment which is usually a tall order these days but not impossible.
